ReplyDeleteI think it is also a question of consumption and expectations. The Caribbean is being produced as a place of consumption, not a place of pro-duction. so i agree with you Chris, agentive art and culture is one way of putting a pause to the "empty calories" so often associated with the region, its art, its thinkers, etc.
